Plan your flight
Every lesson starts on the ground with your instructor. Together you plan the flight: where you'd like to go, what you'd love to see, and what the air is doing over the North Shore today. Tell them at check-in, or when you book.

The basics of visual flight rules
How pilots fly by looking outside. Your instructor shows you how to hold the horizon, use the coastline and the ridges as your map, keep a lookout, and read the wind on the water. Simple, practical, and it makes sense the moment you're in the air.

The basics of control
Once you're up, the controls are yours if you want them. Bank, climb, level off, and feel how the aircraft responds. Your instructor talks you through it on the headset and keeps a full set of controls the whole time.

Logbook included
Your flight is a real lesson with an FAA-certified instructor, and it goes in the log. Ask your instructor to log it on the day and your time can count towards a Sport Pilot licence, if you ever want to go further. Or keep it as the day you flew Hawaii yourself.

Do I need any flying experience?
Will I actually fly the aircraft?
Yes, if you want to. The aircraft has dual controls, and your instructor has a full set of controls at all times.
Who will I be flying with?
An FAA-certified instructor from a team that has flown more than 25,000 first flights since 2003 at Dillingham Airfield. The aircraft is dual-control, so your instructor has a full set of controls at all times.
What does the lesson cover?
Four things: you plan the flight with your instructor, you learn the basics of visual flight rules (flying by looking outside), you learn the basics of control and take the controls if you want to, and the flight goes in the logbook.
Is a logbook entry included?
Yes. Ask your instructor to log the flight on the day. Logged time with an FAA-certified instructor can count towards a Sport Pilot licence if you ever decide to keep going.
Which lesson should I book?
All three follow the same syllabus with the same instructor. Classic ($199) is 20 minutes, a first taste of flying it yourself. Highlights ($279) is 30 minutes, with more time on the controls. Ultimate ($599) is the full hour, with photos and video included.
What's included in the price?
The Ultimate includes photos and video. Photos and video can be added to Classic or Highlights for $138.
Is there a deposit, and can I reschedule?
A $100 deposit per flyer holds your booking and comes off the price. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead.
