North Shore coastal flights
The world's most amazing powered glide
Reef colors slide beneath you, ridgelines drift past your wing, and the surf rolls in far below. Every flight is one-on-one with an FAA-certified instructor — and the controls are yours, no experience needed, from your first twenty minutes to a full hour in the sky.
Every flight is different — a longer flight takes in more along the way.

Everything you need to know about achieving your dream of flight.
The most experienced hands in Hawaii. Your instructor is an FAA-certified flight instructor, part of a team that has flown from Dillingham Airfield since 2003 — over 25,000 first flights and counting. The aircraft are meticulously maintained, and you're in solid, safe hands — your instructor keeps a full set of controls the whole way.
Zero experience needed. You fly in tandem using dual controls with a certified instructor, so you can take the controls on your very first lesson — with Oahu's North Shore coastline, open ocean, and emerald peaks as your classroom. First-timers make up the majority of our guests.
It feels like gliding on a breeze — smooth, gentle, and spectacular. Powered gliding is serene. You have time to take it all in: the ocean, the mountains, the coastline stretching out beneath you. Pure magic.
Our youngest flyer was 9 and our oldest 93 — and there's no fixed upper limit. Anyone under 18 just needs a parent or guardian at check-in to sign the waiver. That's it.
Weight: 80–250 lbs. Age: 9–93. No prior experience required. We fly mornings and afternoons, seven days a week. There is free parking onsite at Dillingham Airfield.
That's the fun part — you and your instructor plan the flight together. Tell us what you'd love to see, when you book or at your briefing, and the flight is built around it. Depending on the day you might see turtles in the shallows, surf breaking at Waimea Bay, the Dole pineapple fields laid out in stripes, Kāena Point where the island runs out, and reef colours running turquoise to deep blue. Your instructor reads the air on the day and makes the most of what it gives you.
Yes — if you want to. This is a real introductory flight lesson, and many guests remember the moment the instructor says "you have it" as the highlight. It's never required though: prefer to just soak in the view, and you get the same flight. Your instructor has a full set of controls at all times, and if you ask them to log the flight, it even counts towards a Sport Pilot licence.
The whole way. You and your instructor wear high-fidelity headsets with a two-way intercom, so the flight feels like flying with a friend — point things out, ask questions, or just listen to the running commentary. It's gentler and quieter up there than most people expect.
Yes — and it's proper footage, not an afterthought. Two dedicated cameras fly with you: one shoots 4K video of everything from pre-flight to landing, the other takes high-resolution stills. You watch it all in the hangar before you leave and it's emailed to you the same day. The package is included with the Ultimate flight and available as an add-on to Classic and Highlights. One thing we can't do is mount your own GoPro — in an open cockpit at 70 mph, anything that slips away meets the propeller, so let our cameras do the work.
Comfortable clothes — shorts or trousers rather than a dress — and secure closed shoes or sandals with a back strap (slippers and slip-ons stay on the ground). Bring a light jacket if you feel the cold, and sunglasses are fine with a retention strap. Leave loose hats and scarves behind, and don't forget your photo ID.
Flight time — and what you do with it. Longer flights mean more time soaring the coastline, more time with the controls in your hands, and more of the vertical: climbing for the big panorama, dropping down for the low pass. The Ultimate flight also includes the photo and video package as standard.
If conditions aren't safe, we simply don't fly. When we make that call, you choose a new date and time with 100% of your deposit carried over, or a refund if the trip doesn't allow it. Simple as that.
